SpO2 (Beta)
Experimental blood-oxygen saturation estimate. Advanced (Beta), wellness-only.
Advanced (Beta) — wellness only
SpO2 is an experimental estimate for general wellness use only. It is not a pulse-oximeter replacement and must not be used for any medical decision. Render it at lower visual authority than Core metrics.
Definition
SpO2 (blood-oxygen saturation) is the percentage of hemoglobin carrying oxygen. A pulse oximeter derives it from how light is absorbed at two wavelengths; neccessory approximates it from the camera's color channels. The camera-based estimate is coarse and sensitive to conditions.

Averaging window
SpO2 requires clean, well-lit, still capture — even more than heart rate. In poor
conditions it is returned as null.
Works when
- The subject is still and evenly, adequately lit.
- The face is well framed and unobstructed for the full window.
Does not work when
- There is motion, uneven or flickering lighting, or an unusual white balance.
- The face is far away, partly out of frame, or obscured.
Confidence and result shape
In the measurement result, SpO2 lives under
spo2, carries tier: "beta", a disclaimer string, and a
per-metric confidence (0..1). Values are nullable and may be absent from a
measurement. Treat it as a coarse indicator, never a precise percentage.
